In March 2026, China exported 780,000 vehicles and imported 28,000 vehicles, with values of 13.8 billion and 1.17 billion US dollars, respectively.
According to the data from the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in March 2026, China's total vehicle exports reached 780,000 units, an increase of 6.0% compared to the previous month and a 30.8% increase year-on-year. The export value amounted to 13.8 billion US dollars, showing an 8.3% increase compared to the previous month and a 43.5% increase year-on-year.
From January to March 2026, the total vehicle exports reached 2.312 million units, a 40.9% increase year-on-year, with an export value of 40.77 billion US dollars, representing a 56.0% increase year-on-year.
On the import side, in March 2026, China imported a total of 28,000 vehicles, a decrease of 12.6% compared to the previous month and a 28.9% decrease year-on-year. The import value was 1.17 billion US dollars, showing a 20.7% decrease compared to the previous month and a 39.6% decrease year-on-year.
From January to March 2026, a total of 97,000 vehicles were imported, a 2.6% increase year-on-year, with an import value of 4.44 billion US dollars, a 10.4% decrease year-on-year.
