On May 2, 2026, the total number of cross-regional personnel movements in the whole society was 29.7665 million, a decrease of 11.8% from the previous month and an increase of 1.7% year-on-year.
On May 3rd, the Ministry of Transportation announced that on May 2nd, 2026, the total interregional passenger flow in the whole society was 297.665 million person-times, a decrease of 11.8% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 1.7% year-on-year. Railway passenger volume was 197.81 million person-times, a decrease of 20.4% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 1.2% year-on-year. Road passenger flow (including non-operating small passenger car travel on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads, and operating passenger transportation on roads) was 273.86 million person-times, a decrease of 11.2% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 1.8% year-on-year. Among them, the operating passenger transportation volume on roads was 39.4 million person-times, a decrease of 6.6% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 14.9% year-on-year; the non-operating small passenger car travel on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads was 234.46 million person-times, a decrease of 12% compared to the previous period, and stable year-on-year. Waterway passenger volume was 2.096 million person-times, an increase of 19% compared to the previous period, and a decrease of 1.3% year-on-year. Civil aviation passenger volume was 1.928 million person-times, a decrease of 17% compared to the previous period, and a decrease of 11% year-on-year. The national postal industry handled 474 million packages, an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous period; delivered 493 million packages, a decrease of 4.6% compared to the previous period.
