Macao Statistics and Census Bureau: The number of inbound tourists in the first quarter increased by 13.7% year-on-year to 11.2139 million.

In March 2026, a total of 3,393,636 inbound passengers entered, an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period last year. However, the number of day-trip visitors (2,076,190) increased by 16.6% and overnight visitors (1,317,446) increased by 2.2%.
According to data from the Macao Statistics and Census Bureau, the number of inbound tourists in the first quarter of this year increased by 13.7% year-on-year to 11,213,904. However, overnight tourists (7,007,320) and staying tourists (4,206,584) increased by 20.3% and 4.1% respectively. The average length of stay for tourists (1.0 days) decreased by 0.1 days compared to the same period last year, while the average length of stay for staying tourists (2.2 days) remained the same as last year. In terms of sources, the number of tourists from mainland China in the first quarter increased by 16.4% year-on-year to 8,388,921, with individual tourists (4,750,197) increasing by 18.4%. Tourists from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (1,783,763) and Taiwan (285,464) increased by 1.8% and 29.1% respectively compared to the same period last year. There were a total of 755,756 international tourists in the first quarter, an increase of 10.7% year-on-year. In the Southeast Asia market, tourists from the Philippines (131,749), Thailand (59,811), and Malaysia (48,903) increased by 4.1%, 70.5%, and 3.8% respectively, while tourists from Indonesia (46,262) decreased by 13.8%. Tourists from India in South Asia (27,034) increased by 41.3%, while tourists from South Korea in Northeast Asia (184,938) and the United States (39,340) from long-haul sources increased by 7.4% each. In March 2026, there were a total of 3,393,636 inbound tourists, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year; however, overnight tourists (2,076,190) and staying tourists (1,317,446) increased by 16.6% and 2.2% respectively. There were 276,455 international tourists in March, an increase of 18.4% year-on-year. The overall average length of stay for tourists decreased by 0.1 days to 1.0 days, while the average length of stay for staying tourists (2.3 days) remained the same.
