In March, the number of cases receiving comprehensive assistance increased by 325 compared to February, with a monthly growth rate of 0.2%. By the end of March, the total number of cases receiving comprehensive assistance was 194,549, with a total of 256,221 beneficiaries.
On April 23, the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department released the latest figures on Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) cases. The number of CSSA cases in March increased by 325 compared to February, with a monthly growth rate of 0.2%. At the end of March, the total number of CSSA cases was 194,549, benefiting a total of 256,221 people.
In terms of case categories, there was a 0.3% monthly decrease in cases of permanent disabilities, with 16,272 cases.
Cases in the low-income category increased by 0.6%, with 1,271 cases. Unemployment cases increased by 0.5%, with 15,240 cases. Cases in the elderly category and cases of poor health both increased by 0.2%, with 111,678 and 28,234 cases respectively. Cases in the single-parent category increased by 0.1%, with 17,913 cases.
