On April 16, the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government released the February 2026 statistics on the volume and prices of external goods trade. Comparing the first two months of 2026 with the same period in 2025, Hong Kong's overall export volume and import volume increased by 25.0% and 29.1% respectively. In February 2026 compared to February 2025, Hong Kong's overall export volume and import volume increased by 19.5% and 23.9% respectively. Seasonally adjusted figures show that, for the three months up to February 2026 compared to the previous three months, the overall export volume and import volume increased by 14.4% and 15.5% respectively. Comparing the first two months of 2026 with the same period in 2025, overall export prices and import prices increased by 3.6% and 3.7% respectively. In February 2026 compared to February 2025, overall export prices and import prices increased by 4.2% and 4.3% respectively. The Trade Price Index Ratio is calculated based on the ratio of the overall export price index to the overall import price index. Compared to the same period in 2025, this index fell by 0.1% in February 2026, while it remained largely unchanged in the first two months of 2026. In February 2026 compared to February 2025, overall export volumes to all major destinations increased: United States (36.2%), Taiwan (26.3%), Mainland China (16.1%), Vietnam (15.9%), and India (14.8%). At the same time, overall export prices to all major destinations increased: Taiwan (5.6%), Mainland China (4.8%), India (4.6%), United States (2.9%), and Vietnam (2.4%). Comparing February 2026 to February 2025, import volumes from all major suppliers recorded increases: South Korea (90.5%), Vietnam (63.0%), Mainland China (23.1%), Singapore (14.9%), and Taiwan (2.8%). At the same time, import prices from all major suppliers increased: South Korea (9.7%), Taiwan (6.4%), Mainland China (4.1%), Vietnam (2.7%), and Singapore (1.6%).
