On April 16, the State Council announced that, in accordance with the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, and based on the recommendation of the Chief Executive of Macao, Ho Iat Seng, Tai Kin Ip has been relieved of his duties as the Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao.
On April 16, the State Council announced that, in accordance with the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, upon the recommendation of the Chief Executive of Macao, Ho Iat Seng, Dai Jianye was relieved of his position as the Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao. The Macao SAR government stated that Dai Jianye had previously submitted a resignation request to the Chief Executive of Macao, Ho Iat Seng, for personal reasons. Ho Iat Seng, in accordance with the Basic Law of the Macao SAR, recommended to the central government to relieve Dai Jianye of his duties as the Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao. Ho Iat Seng pointed out that since the current government of the Macao SAR took office, Dai Jianye had served as the Secretary for Economy and Finance, implementing the governing principles and work arrangements of the Macao SAR government, leading the team of the Secretariat for Economy and Finance to govern according to law, take responsibility, and make new progress in economic and financial work. Ho Iat Seng sincerely thanked and fully acknowledged the efforts and contributions made by Dai Jianye to the development of the Macao SAR. Ho Iat Seng stated that the Macao SAR government is currently working on the nomination of the new Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao, and will timely request the appointment by the central government. Before the new Secretary takes office, Ho Iat Seng will exercise all powers of the Secretary for Economy and Finance in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Basic Law.
