On April 16, the National Bureau of Statistics released data showing that from January to March, the total real estate development investment in China was 1.772 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 11.2% (calculated according to comparable terms), which was 0.1 percentage points larger than in January and February; of which residential investment was 1.3531 trillion yuan, a decrease of 11.0%, with the decrease extending by 0.3 percentage points.
On April 16, the National Bureau of Statistics released data showing that from January to March, the national real estate development investment reached 1.772 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 11.2% (calculated on a comparable basis), with the decline expanding by 0.1 percentage points compared to January-February. Of this, residential investment amounted to 1.3531 trillion yuan, down 11.0%, with the decline expanding by 0.3 percentage points.
From January to March, the construction area of buildings by real estate development enterprises nationwide was 5.41737 billion square meters, a decrease of 11.7% year-on-year. Among them, the construction area of residential buildings was 3.75465 billion square meters, down 12.1%. The newly started construction area of buildings was 1.0373 billion square meters, down 20.3%, with residential new construction area totaling 0.742 billion square meters, a decrease of 22.0%. The completed construction area of buildings was 0.9789 billion square meters, down 25.0%, of which residential completed construction area was 0.6983 billion square meters, down 26.5%.
