The entry price for flagship models Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 has increased from $999 to $1499, a substantial 50% increase. This price hike covers the entire Surface product line and is effective immediately, with other retailers expected to follow suit.
It is reported that Microsoft Corporation has agreed to lease capacity at a data center in Norway, originally planned for use by OpenAI. Cloud infrastructure provider Nscale stated that Microsoft Corporation will lease 30,000 NVIDIA Corporation Vera Rubin chips from their facility located in the Arctic Circle in Narvik, Norway, as an expansion upon their initial $6.2 billion investment in that location.
Furthermore, reports indicate that Microsoft Corporation plans to purchase approximately 3,200 acres of land in Cheyenne, Wyoming for data center expansion, including 200 acres in the Bison Business Park and 3,000 acres in the southeast part of Cheyenne. The expansion is expected to create thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of full-time positions, with a data center apprenticeship program in collaboration with local colleges already training over a thousand students.
