In the first two months, China's software business revenue was 2.1534 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year. The total profit of the software industry was 269.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%.
On March 31st, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operating conditions of the software industry for the months of January and February 2026. In the first two months, the total revenue of the software industry in China reached 2.1534 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.7% compared to the same period last year. The total profit of the software industry was 269.3 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. The export of software services reached 10.38 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%. The revenue from software products saw stable growth, reaching 472.7 billion yuan in the first two months, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year.
Among the software products, revenue from basic software products reached 31.6 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1%, and revenue from industrial software products reached 47.9 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4%.
The information technology service revenue maintained a double-digit growth, reaching 1.4474 trillion yuan in the first two months, an increase of 13.1% year-on-year. Cloud computing and big data services generated a revenue of 280.9 billion yuan, an increase of 11.4%, accounting for 19.4% of the total information technology service revenue. Integrated circuit design revenue reached 63.6 billion yuan, an increase of 15.7%, while e-commerce platform technology service revenue reached 179.3 billion yuan, an increase of 10.5%.
Revenue from information security and embedded system software saw steady growth, reaching 41.2 billion yuan and 192.2 billion yuan respectively, with increases of 6.2% and 12.3%.
In terms of regional performance, software business revenue in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions of China increased by 12.1%, 11.2%, 9.1%, and 6.5% respectively in the first two months of the year. The eastern region accounted for 85.5% of the total software business revenue in the country. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region saw a 14.7% increase in software business revenue, while the Yangtze River Delta region saw an 11.4% increase. These two regions accounted for 27.2% and 29.1% of the national software business revenue respectively. Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanghai were the top five regions in terms of software business revenue, with growth rates of 14.9%, 11.4%, 12.1%, 8.4%, and 12.1% respectively.
