In February 2026, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in Macau increased by 4.0 percentage points year-on-year to 94.6%, with occupancy rates at five-star, four-star, and three-star hotels increasing by 2.8, 8.6, and 3.6 percentage points respectively.
According to data from the Macao Statistics and Census Bureau, in February 2026, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in Macao increased by 4.0 percentage points year-on-year to 94.6%. Among them, the occupancy rates of five-star (96.5%), four-star (93.7%), and three-star (90.9%) hotels increased by 2.8, 8.6, and 3.6 percentage points respectively.
In February, the number of guests in hotel establishments increased by 10.1% year-on-year to 1.226 million; guests from Mainland China (0.955 million) and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (0.124 million) increased by 11.8% and 6.6% respectively; international guests (0.081 million) decreased by 5.7%, with Japanese guests (0.005 million) decreasing by 32.5%, while guests from Korea (0.030 million) and Thailand (0.006 million) increased by 1.3% and 0.6% respectively.
In February of this year, there were 0.134 million group inbound tourists, a decrease of 8.6% year-on-year; due to more individual tourists from Mainland China, the number of group tourists from Mainland China decreased by 10.0% to 0.112 million.
In the first two months of this year, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms increased by 2.4 percentage points year-on-year to 93.1%, with the number of guests increasing by 4.5% to 2.477 million; there were a total of 0.210 million international guests, an increase of 12.9% year-on-year. On the other hand, the total number of group inbound tourists in the first two months decreased by 11.3% year-on-year to 0.272 million, while international group tourists increased by 14.9% to 0.042 million.
