AVICHINA (02357) has signed a technology development contract to carry out cooperation in the development of critical core flight control technology.
Avic Science and Technology Corporation (02357) announced that in order to increase the intensity of research and development of key core technologies for intelligent electric aircraft flight control, accelerate the development of flight control systems for intelligent electric aircraft for low-altitude industries, the board of directors approved the company to sign a technology development contract with AVIC Helicopter Co., Ltd. (AVIC Helicopter, a non-wholly-owned subsidiary of the company) and Aviation Industry Automation Research Institute on March 27, 2026. Accordingly, the company and AVIC Helicopter (as the principal) will entrust Aviation Industry Automation Research Institute (as the agent) to carry out research and development of flight control technology for intelligent electric aircraft according to the technology development contract.
AVICHINA (02357) announced that in order to increase the effort in developing key core technologies for intelligent electric aircraft flight control, and to accelerate the research and development of flight control systems for intelligent electric aircraft for the low-altitude industry, the board of directors approved the company to sign a technology development contract with AVICOPTER PLC (a non-wholly-owned subsidiary of the company) and the Aviation Industry Automation Institute on March 27, 2026.
According to the contract, the company and AVICOPTER PLC (as the client) will commission the Aviation Industry Automation Institute (as the contractor) to carry out research and development work on intelligent electric aircraft flight control technology.
The research and development funding under the technology development contract totals 90 million RMB, with the company and AVICOPTER PLC contributing 45 million RMB each.
The scope of research and development includes research on intelligent electric aircraft flight control technology by the Aviation Industry Automation Institute based on the requirements of the technology development contract, the company, and AVICOPTER PLC. It also involves developing overall conceptual and detailed plans and key system solutions according to the project schedule, completing the prototyping and test flight of the verification platform, and conducting research and test flight verification of the flight control system for the full-attitude flying aircraft.
Aerospace and low-altitude economy have become emerging pillar industries at the national strategic level. The vigorous development and promotion of the research and development of intelligent electric aircraft flight control systems for fully-attitude flying aircraft closely align with the core needs of the aerospace and low-altitude economy industry upgrade, and are in line with the long-term strategic layout and development direction of the group.
The company, AVICOPTER PLC, and the Aviation Industry Automation Institute plan to jointly establish a non-legal person research and development platform to coordinate various resources and advantages, leverage synergistic effects, and build a foundation for the research and development verification and industrialization of intelligent electric aircraft flight control technology.
Collaborative technology development under this framework will help strengthen the key core technologies of intelligent electric aircraft flight control, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and play a positive role in continuously improving the core competitiveness and layout in the aerospace and low-altitude economy fields for the group.
