On March 26, ByteDance's CapCut announced the launch of CapCut Video Studio on social platforms, allowing users to create videos without a timeline and supporting the Dreamina Seedance 2.0 audio-video model. This model will support video clips up to 15 seconds long and provide 6 different aspect ratios, allowing people to create rich and detailed video content without reference images. Currently, Dreamina Seedance 2.0 has been launched on the CapCut app, desktop, and web platforms, covering Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, with more regions to come soon. ByteDance official stated that Dreamina Seedance 2.0 is equipped with strict protective measures to prevent violations of safety policies and unauthorized use of others' likeness or intellectual property. These measures include restricting certain functions of user accounts, such as the ability to create videos from images or videos containing real human faces; implementing advanced technology to prevent the unauthorized generation of intellectual property, through proactive monitoring, in-app reporting, and direct cooperation with creators and rights holders; and introducing advanced "invisible watermark" technology to help identify content created using the model and take action when necessary. In order for viewers to understand how content is created, CapCut will label AI-generated content with visible watermarks and embed C2PA content credentials, which helps other platforms or individuals identify AI-generated content. Meanwhile, CapCut prohibits unauthorized use of intellectual property and takes measures to prevent related content from being uploaded or created on the platform. ByteDance officially released this model in February this year, targeting professional film, e-commerce, and advertising sectors, emphasizing its ability to handle text, images, audio, and video simultaneously to reduce content production costs. Following the release of this model, a series of copyright disputes arose with Hollywood giants such as Disney and Paramount. ByteDance responded by stating that measures will be taken to prevent unauthorized use of Seedance 2.0 for intellectual property infringement.
