Clara Chan, the CEO of Hong Kong Investment Corporation, attended a sub-forum at the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan and stated that the company's operations will be fully underway by 2024, with positive investment returns already recorded by the end of that year. The internal rate of return has reached double digits so far, with every $1 of investment attracting over $8 in capital co-investment, much of which comes from overseas funds. She hopes that the company can play a better role in attracting investment in the future. She mentioned that over 50% of the company's funds are currently invested in mainland projects, 30% in Hong Kong projects, and 20% in overseas projects, pointing out that many opportunities in forward-looking technological sectors are in mainland China and Hong Kong. She also stated that the company helps investee companies connect with different capital, customers, and application scenarios. She mentioned a project that was listed on the Hong Kong stock market at the end of last year, where the company helped connect the enterprise with many overseas customers, and its products and services are now sold in over 90 regions around the world. Investment projects are subject to due diligence by Hong Kong Investment Corporation and other funds, forming a mutual endorsement. After the event, she told reporters that she recently visited Shanghai and Hainan, focusing on local high-growth, high-impact innovative enterprises, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, life sciences, and green energy. She also mentioned that the investment portfolio includes companies from Hainan, and there are many projects driven by cooperation between different cities to promote industrial development.
