As of the time of writing, Changfei Optical Fiber Cable (06869) has increased by 13.76% to 187.7 Hong Kong dollars; Hongteng Precision (06088) has risen by 11.21% to 7.84 Hong Kong dollars; Huiju Technology (01729) has gone up by 10.7% to 16.76 Hong Kong dollars; and Cambridge Technology (06166) has gained 6.13% to 81.35 Hong Kong dollars.
Concept stocks in the optical communication sector are rising across the board. As of the time of writing, YOFC (06869) is up 13.76% at HKD 187.7, Hongteng Precision (06088) is up 11.21% at HKD 7.84, TIME INTERCON (01729) is up 10.7% at HKD 16.76, and Cig Shanghai (06166) is up 6.13% at HKD 81.35. In recent news, the Optical Fiber Communication Exhibition and Conference (OFC 2026) was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Major optical fiber manufacturers such as Corning and Changfei showcased new products including hollow-core fibers, multi-core fibers, and high-density connectors, which are expected to significantly improve the data center optical network connection density and scalability. In addition, Huang Renxun recently stated at the GTC conference that there will be at least $1 trillion high-confidence AI demand by 2027. The prosperous cycle of AI computing power demand is expected to continue at least until 2027 and surpass expectations. Wanlian Securities released a research report stating that with the accelerated construction of the AI ecosystem, the continuous eruption of agents, and the sustained high growth in AI computing power demand, optical communication has become a core component of the infrastructure for AI computing power. Optical modules, optical fibers, and other optical communication technologies will further innovate and iterate. At the OFC 2026 conference, the emergence of multiple MSAs reflects the increasing scale of global AI data centers, highlighting the importance of interconnection technology. New technologies such as higher-speed copper chains, optical modules, and XPO will continue to emerge.
