Musk: I deeply admire Huang Renxun. SpaceX AI and Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US) will continue to make large-scale purchases of NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) chips.

Billionaire Elon Musk revealed on Wednesday night that his companies, SpaceX and Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US), are expected to continue large-scale purchases of chips from NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US). Musk said, "I have always admired NVIDIA Corporation and its founder, Jensen Huang." Currently, Tesla, Inc. is developing its fifth generation AI chip to help achieve its goal of fully autonomous driving. This chip will provide core power to Tesla, Inc.'s autonomous driving system, including the full self-driving software. In another tweet on the X platform, Musk explained that while the AI5 chip can be used for model training in data centers, its main optimization direction is to provide AI edge computing support for Optimus humanoid Siasun Robot & Automation and Robotaxi autonomous taxi. He added, "There is still huge optimization space for this chip. We believe that under the same half-cell template design and process technology, the performance of a single AI6 chip is expected to reach the level of a dual-core AI5 system." The CEO of Tesla, Inc. also stated that the company expects to widely deploy an updated version of its fully autonomous driving (supervised version) software in the next few weeks. Musk revealed last Saturday that the Terafab project launched by Tesla, Inc. to manufacture AI chips will officially start in seven days. Last month, SpaceX acquired xAI company through an all-stock transaction. This happened before SpaceX's potential large-scale initial public offering (IPO) later this year. This is the first time Musk has used "SpaceX AI" to refer to the merged entity.
