NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) significantly raises its AI chip revenue forecast, with sales expected to reach one trillion US dollars by the end of 2027.
Against the backdrop of sustained explosive demand for artificial intelligence computing, global chip giant NVIDIA once again raised its long-term revenue expectations for its AI chip business.
Against the backdrop of continued explosive demand for artificial intelligence computing, global chip giant NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) has once again raised its long-term revenue forecast for its AI chip business. CEO Jensen Huang stated at the annual developer conference GTC that the company expects its Blackwell and Rubin generations of AI chips to generate at least $1 trillion in revenue by the end of 2027, further highlighting the huge market space brought about by the artificial intelligence wave. As of Monday's close, NVIDIA Corporation rose 1.63% to $183.187.
Previously, NVIDIA Corporation had predicted that these chips would bring in about $500 billion in sales by the end of 2026. This latest forecast not only raises the revenue scale to the trillion-dollar level, but also extends the timeframe by a year. Huang said at the conference that global computing demand had seen unprecedented growth in the past two years, stating, "I believe computing demand has grown by a million times in the past two years, a feeling not only we have, but almost all startups have as well."
At the GTC conference, NVIDIA Corporation also announced several new products and technology updates to further consolidate its leading position in the artificial intelligence infrastructure field. The company announced the integration of technology from AI chip startup Groq into its own product lineup, introducing the Groq 3 LPU (Language Processing Unit). This dedicated chip is primarily used for inference calculations for large language models and can significantly improve the speed at which AI systems generate text and respond to requests. NVIDIA Corporation plans to use it as a coprocessor, working in conjunction with existing AI accelerators to enhance overall system performance. The chips will be manufactured by South Korean electronics giant Samsung Electronics, and systems based on this technology are expected to be launched in the second half of this year.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA Corporation also unveiled a new general-purpose central processing unit architecture "Vera," marking the company's further expansion into the traditional data center processor market. Huang said that the CPU business "will definitely become a market opportunity worth billions of dollars." As artificial intelligence data center architectures become increasingly complex, the general-purpose CPU responsible for coordinating different computing tasks becomes more important.
NVIDIA Corporation states that the Vera processor will integrate various advantages of data center, gaming PC, and laptop processors, being able to handle large amounts of data input and complex computing tasks quickly and efficiently, while also consuming less power. The company plans to launch fully CPU-based server systems, a new product form for NVIDIA Corporation that can operate in conjunction with other NVIDIA Corporation systems or independently.
In recent years, NVIDIA Corporation has been accelerating its pace of technological updates, introducing new core architectures almost every year. The company's next-generation flagship AI system is expected to be launched in the second half of 2026, named "Vera Rubin," in honor of the renowned astronomer Vera Rubin who provided evidence for the existence of dark matter.
The explosive growth in demand for AI chips has propelled NVIDIA Corporation to become one of the world's highest-valued companies, with a current market value of approximately $4.4 trillion. However, as investors begin to focus more on the return on investment for artificial intelligence, the company's stock price has recently shown signs of slowing growth. NVIDIA Corporation's stock price has fallen by about 3.4% since the beginning of the year, but rose 1.6% on the day of the GTC conference, closing at $183.19.
Although NVIDIA Corporation holds a leading position in the AI chip market, competition is intensifying. Competitor AMD (AMD.US) is accelerating the release of new AI accelerator products, and tech giants including Amazon.com, Inc. (META.US) are also developing their own chips to reduce dependence on NVIDIA Corporation products.
At the same time, as AI software matures, some companies are exploring the use of lower-cost, lower-power CPUs to run already trained AI models, providing new strategic opportunities for NVIDIA Corporation to expand its CPU business. Previously, the company had partnered with social media giant Meta (META.US), indicating that its processors may be sold as standalone products in the future.
Industry insiders believe that NVIDIA Corporation is transitioning from a chip manufacturer known for its graphics processors to a technology company providing a complete AI computing platform, with its product lineup covering processors, network devices, software platforms, and AI models. By continuously expanding its technological ecosystem and product line, NVIDIA Corporation is seeking to establish deeper industry barriers in the artificial intelligence infrastructure field.
