Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US) Azure takes the lead and becomes the first global cloud service provider to begin validating the NVIDIA Corporation Vera Rubin NVL72 system.
Microsoft Azure has become the first cloud service provider to start validating the NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 system, and its CEO Nadella announced this news on social media.
Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US) CEO Nadella stated that the company's Azure has become the first cloud service provider to begin validating NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) Vera Rubin NVL72 system.
Nadella posted on X platform on Friday afternoon, saying, "We are the first cloud platform to introduce NVIDIA Corporation's Vera Rubin NVL72 system for validation, which is another significant leap in building the next generation AI infrastructure together with NVIDIA Corporation."
Microsoft Corporation has a long-standing partnership with NVIDIA Corporation, allowing them to deploy iterative hardware devices more effectively in their data centers.
Rani Borkar, President of Microsoft Corporation's Azure hardware systems, stated, "Microsoft Corporation has years of market-proven experience in designing and deploying scalable AI infrastructure that evolves with every major advancement in AI technology," "Synchronized with each generation of accelerated computing infrastructure from NVIDIA Corporation, Microsoft Corporation quickly integrates NVIDIA Corporation's innovation and achieves scalable delivery."
Borkar added, "The NVIDIA Corporation Rubin platform marks a significant step in accelerated computing, and Azure's AI data centers and super factories were designed from the start to take full advantage of this breakthrough. Over the years, we have collaborated with NVIDIA Corporation in interconnect, memory systems, thermal management, packaging, and rack-level architecture, which means Rubin can be seamlessly integrated into the Azure platform without the need for redesign."
Although Microsoft Corporation claims to be the first company to introduce Vera Rubin for validation, it is expected that multiple cloud providers will also deploy this technology in 2026. This includes Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) AWS, CoreWeave (CRWV.US), Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US), Nebius (NBIS.US), and Oracle Corporation (ORCL.US).
According to NVIDIA Corporation's data, each Vera Rubin NVL72 rack can provide performance of up to 3.6 exaflops, about five times the performance of the GB200-based systems. Each rack connects 72 GPUs and 36 CPUs through sixth-generation NVLink, providing bandwidth of 260TB per second.
