C&D NEWIN (00731) announced that the Group expects to incur a net loss attributable to owners of the Company of approximately HK$71.5 million to HK$76.5 million for the year ending December 31, 2025, compared to a net profit attributable to owners of the Company of approximately HK$24.6 million for the year 2024.
The expected change from a net profit in the year 2024 to a net loss in the year 2025 is mainly attributed to the following factors: (i) no significant one-off profit of approximately HK$128.2 million was recorded in the year 2024 due to claims arising from the Group's debt restructuring not declared, details of which were disclosed in a circular dated December 31, 2021; (ii) the complex and volatile trade environment, slow recovery of consumer markets, overall pricing pressure in the packaging paper market, and fluctuation in raw material prices have narrowed the price difference between finished products and raw materials, putting pressure on the profitability of the Group's paper manufacturing division in the year 2025.
