Kuaishou Charity Foundation and Hong Kong Crossroads Foundation have reached a cooperation agreement to jointly explore a sustainable support model for post-disaster urban areas.
Recently, Kuaishou Public Welfare Foundation has reached a cooperation agreement with Hong Kong Caritas. The two parties will focus on the post-disaster support needs related to the fire in Tai Po District, Hong Kong, and carry out systematic and long-term cooperation in the three major directions of "psychological services, social work development, and academic seminars" to jointly explore a more resilient, sustainable, and replicable urban post-disaster support service model. It is reported that this cooperation will focus on three key areas: firstly, establishing a "normalized mental health support system" for the affected population, promoting the transition of psychological assistance from phase-based intervention to continuous support; secondly, initiating a "frontline worker support program" to provide continuous support and development empowerment to non-official rescue workers involved in the rescue and post-disaster work in Tai Po District, strengthening the resilience of urban grassroots services; thirdly, jointly organizing an "International Seminar on Urban Disaster Governance" to carry out academic collaboration and exchange of experiences on urban disaster governance and post-disaster support system construction. Song Tingting, Vice President of Kuaishou Technology and Chairman of Kuaishou Public Welfare Foundation, stated: "Through multiple emergency relief practices, Kuaishou Public Welfare has formed a work path of 'information outreach + resource coordination + post-disaster recovery', not only providing emergency relief, but also extending the work to post-disaster recovery and psychological reconstruction. In this cooperation with Hong Kong Caritas, we will combine emergency relief experience with local professional capabilities, focusing on normalized psychological support, frontline worker support, and academic collaboration, to promote the formation of a replicable urban post-disaster support model." Lau Suk-fai, General Secretary of Hong Kong Caritas, said: "The value of this cooperation lies not only in providing immediate assistance to the affected population in Tai Po District but also in establishing a support system that can operate in the long term: helping the affected individuals gradually overcome trauma and rebuild their social support networks; enabling frontline service personnel such as social workers and volunteers to receive more comprehensive support and growth; and promoting industry-wide knowledge sharing and experience transformation through international seminars. We look forward to working together with Kuaishou Public Welfare Foundation to solidify this sustainable post-disaster support service model for cities and provide practical references for urban disaster governance in Hong Kong and even more extensive regions." Publicly available information shows that Kuaishou Public Welfare Foundation has long been focusing on areas such as youth education, assistance to disadvantaged families, and emergency relief for disasters, continuously promoting the deep integration of "short videos + live broadcasting" with public welfare charity activities. Hong Kong Caritas, founded in 1957, has long advocated social inclusion and provides a variety of social services and support to those in need.
