Nokia expands its cooperation with TIM Brasil and Deutsche Telekom to jointly promote the development of artificial intelligence technology.
On Monday, Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR (NOK.US) announced that it will expand its collaboration with Brazilian telecommunications operator TIM Brasil and Deutsche Telekom, the Finnish 5G equipment manufacturer hopes to leverage artificial intelligence technology on a global scale. Following last week's announcement of a multi-year contract with Telefonica SA Sponsored ADR (Telefonica) to provide network solutions for its data centers across Spain, Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR has reached these new partnerships, highlighting the empowering technology of artificial intelligence to create new revenue streams for Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR. Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR will expand its network collaboration with TIM Brasilpreviously the collaboration between the two parties covered the modernization of the 5G network in the state of Sao Paulo and the preparation for its artificial intelligence servicesthis collaboration will cover 14 states in four regions, reaching approximately 42% of the population in Brazil. In a statement, Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR said this collaboration will allow TIM Brasil to utilize NVIDIA Corporation's AI-RAN platform to provide AI-driven services to enterprise customers. Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR and Deutsche Telekom released a statement earlier on Monday, stating that they will expand their collaboration to accelerate the development of cloud-based, decoupled, AI-native wireless access network (RAN) technology. They said, as global artificial intelligence continues to reshape industry landscapes, this will lay the foundation for programmable and automated mobile networks, making networks simpler, faster, and better equipped to meet future connectivity needs. These contracts reflect a global trend among telecommunications operators to upgrade their networks to 5G to achieve a wider range of artificial intelligence applications, creating a huge market for equipment suppliers like Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Sponsored ADR Class B (ERIC.US). Last year, Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR acquired American fiber optics company Infinera, aiming to capitalize on the booming development of artificial intelligence. Subsequently, chip manufacturer NVIDIA Corporation invested $1 billion in Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR, acquiring 2.9% of this Finnish company's shares. These new deals are one of the largest restructuring plans for Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR since selling its iconic mobile phone business over a decade ago. Nokia Oyj Sponsored ADR is betting on the demand for artificial intelligence and data centers to offset the impact of weak spending and contract losses in the 5G sector.
