On February 27th, the National Energy Administration released the data of electric vehicle charging facilities nationwide in January 2026. According to the data from the National Charging Facility Monitoring Service Platform, as of the end of January 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (sockets) in China reached 20.698 million, a year-on-year increase of 49.6%. Among them, there were 4.801 million public charging facilities (sockets), an increase of 31.2% year-on-year, with a total rated power of 2.26 billion kilowatts, and an average power of about 47.01 kilowatts; there were 15.897 million private charging facilities (sockets), an increase of 56.1% year-on-year, with an installed electric capacity of 1.38 billion kilovolt-amperes.
