On February 24, 2026, the total number of inter-regional population movements in the whole society was 242.416 million, a 30.3% decrease from the previous period, and a 4.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
According to data from the Special Work Team for Comprehensive Transportation Spring Festival Travel, on February 24, 2026 (the 23rd day of the Spring Festival, the eighth day of the first lunar month, Tuesday), the total cross-regional passenger flow in the whole society was 242.416 million person-times, a decrease of 30.3% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period in 2025 (Wednesday). Among them, railway passenger volume was 181.01 million person-times, a decrease of 3.4% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period in 2025. The total road passenger flow (including non-operating small passenger car trips on highways and ordinary national/provincial roads, and operating passenger traffic on roads) was 220.6 million person-times, a decrease of 32.1% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, operating passenger traffic on roads was 32.81 million person-times, a decrease of 2.5% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025; non-operating small passenger car trips on highways and ordinary national/provincial roads was 187.79 million person-times, a decrease of 35.5% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2025. Waterway passenger volume was 1.073 million person-times, a decrease of 18.8% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 4.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Civil aviation passenger volume was 2.642 million person-times, a decrease of 1% compared to the previous period, and an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2025.
