On February 24th, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered questions from reporters regarding the recent adjustment of tariffs by the United States, stating that China has always opposed unilateral tariff measures in any form, and urges the U.S. to cancel and no longer impose unilateral tariffs. Practice has repeatedly shown that cooperation between China and the U.S. is mutually beneficial, while confrontation is detrimental to both sides. China is willing to engage in candid discussions with the U.S. in the upcoming 6th round of China-U.S. economic and trade consultations. It is hoped that the U.S. will work with China to uphold the consensus reached during the summit between the two leaders and their phone call on February 4th, to resolve concerns through mutual respect, equal consultation, and to manage differences properly in order to maintain a healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
