China XLX FERT(01866) rose nearly 5% in midday trading, up 3.67% as of the time of writing, at HK$11.59, with a transaction amount of HK$26.0995 million. On the news front, market monitoring data from the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce shows that the average sales price of fertilizers in the province rose during the Spring Festival. In the week before the Spring Festival, the average sales price of fertilizers in the province was RMB 2,627.71 per ton, up 2.7% year-on-year but down 1.3%. By variety, the average sales price of nitrogen fertilizers was RMB 2,191.10 per ton, up 4.2% year-on-year but down 10.1%; the average sales price of ternary compound fertilizer was RMB 3,064.32 per ton, up 1.7% year-on-year and 6% in the same period last year. It is understood that the average sales price of fertilizers in the province of Hunan rose, supported by the rise in international fertilizer prices and the demand for pre-holiday stocking up. Guosen pointed out that China is the world's largest demand for potassium fertilizer, but the supply of potassium fertilizer resources is relatively insufficient. As of the end of January 2026, domestic potassium chloride port stocks were 2.4947 million tons, a decrease of 0.3451 million tons from the same period last year, a decrease of 1.215%. In the future, due to the increasing attention to food production security, it is expected that the safe inventory of potassium fertilizer in China will increase to over 4 million tons. The average price of potassium chloride at the end of January was RMB 3,295 per ton, up 0.4% month-on-month and 27.52% year-on-year. In the international market, at the end of January, Chinese importers reached a cross-border railway contract with the Russian Uralkali Potash Company, with the February potassium chloride contract price being $364 per ton (delivery to Manzhouli), a $3 increase from January.
