Data from the Spring Festival Transport Work Special Class of Comprehensive Transport shows that on February 17, 2026 (the 16th day of the Spring Festival, the first day of the lunar calendar, Tuesday), the total cross-regional population flow was 224.182 million person-times, an increase of 15.5% compared to the previous period, and a 9.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025 (Wednesday).
Among them:
- Railway passenger volume was 6.049 million person-times, a decrease of 12.7% compared to the previous period, and a 9.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
- Road passenger flow (including the non-operational small passenger car travel volume on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads, and the operational passenger transport volume on roads) was 214.82 million person-times, an increase of 16.4% compared to the previous period, and a 9.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, the operational passenger transport volume on roads was 12.89 million person-times, a decrease of 30% compared to the previous period, and an 8.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025; the non-operational small passenger car travel volume on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads was 201.93 million person-times, an increase of 21.5% compared to the previous period, and a 9.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
- Waterway passenger volume was 1.055 million person-times, an increase of 59% compared to the previous period, and a 41.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
- Civil aviation passenger volume was 2.257 million person-times, an increase of 17.1% compared to the previous period, and a 10.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
