According to the statistical analysis of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in January 2026, among the main types of commercial vehicles, both truck and bus production and sales decreased to varying degrees compared to the previous month; compared with the same period last year, truck production and sales increased rapidly, bus production increased slightly, and sales decreased slightly. In January 2026, commercial vehicle production and sales were 388,000 and 359,000 respectively, with year-on-year increases of 29.9% and 23.5% respectively, and decreases of 6.8% and 15.6% respectively compared to the previous month. In terms of bus sub-categories, compared to the previous month, production and sales of all three major types of buses showed a significant decrease; compared with the same period last year, medium-sized bus production and sales increased rapidly, large bus production increased by double digits, and sales decreased slightly, while light bus production and sales showed a decrease to varying degrees. In January 2026, truck production and sales were 350,000 and 323,000 respectively, with year-on-year increases of 33.7% and 27.9% respectively, and decreases of 1.8% and 10.4% respectively compared to the previous month. Among the truck sub-categories, compared to the previous month, production of heavy-duty trucks and medium-duty trucks showed varying degrees of decrease, with sales increasing slightly, while production and sales of light-duty trucks showed a decrease to varying degrees, and production of micro trucks increased rapidly, with sales decreasing slightly; compared with the same period last year, production and sales of the four major types of trucks showed different degrees of growth.
