Gold mining company Gold Fields (GFI.US) stated that due to benefiting from the record-breaking rise in the price of gold, the company's profits last year may have nearly doubled.
Gold Fields Limited Sponsored ADR (GFI.US) stated that due to the record increase in gold prices, the company's profit last year may have nearly doubled. Gold Fields Limited Sponsored ADR said on Friday that it expects its earnings per share for 2025 to be between $3.87 and $4.11, an increase of 178% to 196% compared to the previous year. The company stated that this growth "reflects the significant increase in gold prices" and the increase in gold sales. Last year, driven by political instability at GEO Group Inc, investors turned to safe haven assets, causing gold prices to soar by nearly 65%. Gold prices continue to rise this year, hitting a historical high of nearly $5600 on January 29, and then partially retracing. Gold Fields Limited Sponsored ADR, which mines gold in Australia, Chile, Ghana, Peru, and South Africa, said it produced a total of 2.4 million ounces of gold last year, an 18% increase compared to 2024. The company will release its complete annual performance report later this month.
