The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the China Logistics Industry Prosperity Index for January 2026 at 51.2%, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points from the previous month. Liu Yuhang, Director of the China Logistics Information Center, believes that in January, the logistics industry maintained an expanding trend, but due to factors such as holidays, activity slowed down. The total business volume index, new order index, employment index, and business activity expectation index are all in the expansion range of over 50%. Looking at different sectors, there is strong demand for New Year goods before the holiday, creating a strong atmosphere for stocking up on goods, and the logistics business for e-commerce is growing rapidly. However, it is also important to note that the overall demand momentum is weak, expectations are lower than before, and it is recommended to pay attention to post-holiday industrial resumption of work dynamics in advance and enhance the resilience of the supply chain to lay a solid foundation for a smooth start. The total business volume index has decreased slightly, at 51.2%, a 1.2 percentage point decrease from the previous period, remaining in the expansion range. The new order index continues to expand, at 50.2%, a 0.3 percentage point increase from the same period last year. Market expectations remain high, with the business activity expectation index at 52.3%, a decrease of 2.5 percentage points from the previous period.
