Our country will layout more future industries related to "space+"
Among them, it includes implementing future industry development cultivation projects, planning to promote the development of new fields such as space smart infrastructure, space resource development, space traffic management, and space tourism.
Shanghai, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) - China will lay out more future industries related to "space +" as revealed during the Commercial Aerospace and Application Industrial Chain Action Conference held in Shanghai on the 29th.
According to the introduction, China Aerospace Hi-Tech Holding Group, as the "chain leader" unit of the commercial aerospace and application industrial chain in China, will focus on the development of the national strategic deployment of commercial aerospace during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, leveraging the functions of central enterprise strategic leadership and ecosystem building to drive companies in the upstream, midstream, and downstream of the industrial chain to seek new development together, build new capabilities together, and create a new ecology together, and implement five major projects. These include implementing future industry development incubation projects and planning to promote the development of new areas such as space digital infrastructure, space resource development, space traffic management, and space tourism.
In the field of space digital infrastructure, the construction of a Gigawatt-class space digital infrastructure will be carried out to create a new space system architecture integrating cloud, edge, and end, achieving deep integration of computing power, storage capacity, and operational capabilities, enabling "sky computing, earth computing, the same computing".
In terms of space resource development, a major project demonstration of "creating things in space" will be carried out, constructing a comprehensive experimental system for space resource development and ground support systems, focusing on breakthroughs in key technologies such as exploration of small celestial bodies, intelligent autonomous mining, low-cost transfer transportation, on-orbit processing.
In the field of space traffic management, key technologies such as monitoring, early warning, and removal of space debris will be developed to lay a solid foundation for China to take the initiative in the formulation of international rules for space traffic management and to provide security for the safe operation of space infrastructure.
In the field of space tourism, efforts will be made to accelerate the iteration and formation of sub-orbital and orbital space tourism spacecraft products, complete relevant unmanned or manned flight verification, establish a sound space tourism operation system, achieve sub-orbital space tourism flight operations, and gradually develop orbital space tourism.
The Commercial Aerospace and Application Industrial Chain Action Conference, themed "Chain Aggregation Industry Strength, Building a Strong Aerospace Country," was guided by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the China National Space Administration, and co-hosted by China Aerospace Hi-Tech Holding Group Co., Ltd. and the China Society of Astronautics. More than 400 representatives from national ministries, central enterprises, local governments in Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan, research institutes, universities, commercial aerospace companies, financial institutions, and relevant industry associations attended the meeting.
