Huaxin Steel (000932.SZ) announced that two 6m coke ovens at its subsidiary Hunan Huaxin Lianyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Huaxin Lian Steel") have reached the end of their service life. In order to solve problems such as erosion of the furnace wall, leakage inside the furnace, low thermal efficiency, and high energy consumption per ton of coke caused by the aging of the coke oven body, Huaxin Lian Steel plans to implement a project to overhaul the 6m coke ovens on site, with an investment of 450 million yuan and a construction period of 19 months.
