Hong Kong's "New Industrial Acceleration Program" new project has received the support of the evaluation committee to invest over 800 million Hong Kong dollars in building a semiconductor equipment production line.
This project will not only bring advanced manufacturing technology to Hong Kong, but will also further promote the improvement and upgrading of the industrial chain, helping to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness.
On January 15, the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Bureau announced that the New Industrial Acceleration Program submitted by Dong Microelectronics Hong Kong has received preliminary support from the Innovation and Technology Fund under the New Industry Review Committee. The project plans to establish a new production line to produce and validate semiconductor equipment in the field of advanced manufacturing technology, with a total investment budget exceeding HK$800 million, and the expected funding amount for the "acceleration program" is approximately HK$200 million.
The Director of the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Bureau, Sun Dong, expressed his pleasure that another company has prepared to establish a new advanced manufacturing production facility in Hong Kong through the "acceleration program." This project will not only bring advanced manufacturing technology to Hong Kong but also further promote the improvement and upgrading of the industrial chain, helping to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness. The government will continue to support enterprises to promote the new industrialization and high-quality economic development of Hong Kong.
The "acceleration program" is for enterprises engaged in strategic industries (namely life health technology, artificial intelligence and data science, and advanced manufacturing and new energy technology) and investing no less than HK$100 million to establish new intelligent production facilities in Hong Kong. The government provides funding in a one (government): two (enterprise) matching form, with a maximum total funding limit of HK$200 million for each enterprise. In addition, the government also provides additional funding for relevant enterprises to hire research and/or technical personnel.
