As of the end of December 2025, Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserves stood at $427.9 billion, a decrease of $15 billion compared to the previous period.
On January 7, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced that Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserves at the end of December 2025 were $427.9 billion (down from $429.4 billion at the end of November 2025), a decrease of $15 billion compared to the previous month. There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of December 2025 or November 2025.
The total foreign exchange reserves of $427.9 billion is equivalent to more than five times the circulating currency in Hong Kong, or approximately 38% of the Hong Kong dollar M3 money supply.
