The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today (December 24) that the Chief Executive of Hong Kong has reappointed Wilfred Wong as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), and appointed Yip Ngam-tung as the Vice Chairman of the HKADC for a term of three years, effective from January 1, 2026.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today (December 24) that the Chief Executive of Hong Kong has re-appointed Wilfred Wong as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) and appointed Yip Ngok Tung as the Vice Chairman of the HKADC for a term of three years, effective from January 1, 2026. The Chief Executive also appointed the following individuals as members of the HKADC: The three government representatives as ex-officio members of the HKADC: the Secretary for Home Affairs or his representative, the Permanent Secretary for Education or his representative, and the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services or his representative. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department said: "We welcome the above appointments and thank the re-appointed members for their past work." The spokesperson also expressed gratitude to outgoing Vice Chairman Professor Yang Wai Ching, as well as members Dr. Alex Ng Wing Tung, Dr. Charmaine Wong, Lee Yik Suen, Professor Man Kit Wah, and Fan Wai Sum for their valuable contributions and support to the HKADC during their tenure. The Hong Kong Arts Development Council is a statutory body established in 1995 to promote and support the development of arts in Hong Kong.
