On December 21, Hong Kong International Airport announced the aviation traffic statistics for the month of November 2025. During the month, the airport handled a total of 5.19 million passengers, with 33,495 aircraft movements, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.1% and 7.7% respectively. The number of transit/transit passengers saw a significant increase, rising by 50.9% year-on-year, while cargo volume increased by 5.9% to 486,000 metric tons. Over the month, both visitor and transit/transit passenger numbers saw double-digit year-on-year growth, with the most significant increase in passengers traveling to and from mainland China and North America, while the growth in transit/transit passengers was mainly driven by the Southeast Asia and mainland China markets. In the first 11 months of this year, Hong Kong International Airport handled over 55 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. There were 358,825 aircraft movements, an 8.8% increase from the previous year. Cargo volume for the period increased by 2.7% to approximately 4.61 million metric tons. In terms of cargo, export cargo continued to be the main driver of growth. Cargo volume to and from Europe, mainland China, and India saw significant increases. On the other hand, cargo volume to and from North America continued to decline due to the impact of increased tariffs imposed by the United States. In the past 12 months, passenger traffic at the airport increased by 15.5% to over 60.3 million passengers, aircraft movements increased by 9.1% to 392,350, and cargo volume increased by 3.0% to 5.06 million metric tons.
