According to the data released by the Statistics and Census Service of the Macao Special Administrative Region on December 19, the Composite Consumer Price Index in Macao increased by 0.72% year-on-year in November 2025 and by 0.11% month-on-month.
According to data released by the Statistics and Census Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region on December 19th, the comprehensive consumer price index of Macao in November 2025 increased by 0.72% year-on-year and by 0.11% month-on-month. Over the twelve months leading up to November this year, the average index for comprehensive consumer prices increased by 0.29% compared to the same period a year ago (from December 2023 to November 2024). Compared to the same month last year, the price index for food and non-alcoholic beverages in November increased by 1.25% in Macao, mainly driven by the increase in dining out and takeaway charges, as well as the rise in housing rent, which led to a 0.17% increase in the housing and fuel category. Among the major categories, leisure, sports, and culture (+3.08%) and miscellaneous goods and services (including personal care, insurance, jewelry, and watches, etc., +1.97%) recorded more significant increases. On the other hand, the price indices for information and communication (-2.31%) and clothing and footwear (-1.05%) categories declined. Class A and Class B consumer price indices increased by 0.66% and 0.77% respectively year-on-year. Compared to October, the comprehensive consumer price index in Macao rose by 0.11% in November. The price index for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.34% month-on-month, mainly due to the rise in prices of fruits, vegetables, and fresh fish, as well as the adjustment in dining out and takeaway charges; clothing and footwear (+1.05%) also recorded an increase. On the other hand, the price indices for leisure, sports, and culture (-0.23%) and tobacco and alcohol (-0.17%) categories declined month-on-month. Class A and Class B consumer price indices increased by 0.12% and 0.10% respectively. Over the twelve months leading up to November this year, the average comprehensive consumer price index in Macao increased by 0.29% compared to the same period a year ago. Among the price indices for various categories, miscellaneous goods and services (+1.92%), leisure, sports, and culture (+1.81%), and education (+1.26%) recorded larger increases, while the price indices for information and communication (-2.67%) and clothing and footwear (-1.84%) declined. Class A and Class B consumer price indices increased by 0.24% and 0.33% respectively. In the first eleven months of this year, the average comprehensive consumer price index in Macao increased by 0.30% year-on-year; Class A and Class B consumer price indices increased by 0.24% and 0.34% respectively.
