The Hong Kong Stock Connect Electronics Theme Index debuts, featuring companies like Lenovo Group, SMIC, and Xiaomi.
On December 18th, Hang Seng Index Company announced the launch of the Hang Seng Stock Connect Electronic Owners Theme Index. This index reflects the performance of Hong Kong-listed companies engaged in the electronic industry, including semiconductor and basic electronic components, telecommunications equipment and parts, information technology equipment and parts, as well as audio/video equipment and parts. It provides a tracking target for index funds, ETFs, and other passive investment products, while also offering investors a tool to allocate electronic assets across markets to enhance their global positioning in the electronic industry and capture unique investment opportunities in the Hong Kong electronic sector. It also serves as an investment and analysis tool for mainland investors focusing on top electronic sectors. It is reported that the index components include companies such as TCL ELECTRONICS, SKYWORTH GROUP, Xiaomi-W, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, LENOVO GROUP, HUA HONG SEMI, BYD ELECTRONIC, ZTE Corporation, LEGENDHOLDING, and AAC TECH.
