In fierce competition with companies such as Alphabet Inc. Class C (GOOGL.US), AI giant OpenAI continues to strengthen its flagship chat Siasun Robot&Automation product. The company announced on Tuesday that it will launch a major update for the image generation feature of ChatGPT, which not only improves the accuracy and editing flexibility of image generation, but also increases the generation speed by up to 4 times compared to previous models. It will also add a separate image generation entry on mobile applications and web pages, allowing users to directly use it without engaging in chat interactions. As an important part of OpenAI's "universal application" strategy, ChatGPT is gradually integrating various functions such as search engines, voice assistants, image and video generation, etc. However, the industry competition is intensifying: Alphabet Inc. Class C recently launched a heavyweight AI model Gemini 3, and its popular image generation tool Nano Banana has continuously increasing user stickiness; xAI, founded by Elon Musk, has launched the chat Siasun Robot&Automation Grok, which has also introduced similar image generation capabilities, forming a situation where they are competing with ChatGPT. According to previous reports, due to the impact of Gemini 3's release, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced in an internal memo that the company is in a "red alert" state, requiring the team to fully promote ChatGPT function upgrades. Just last week, OpenAI released a more advanced AI model, focusing on enhancing ChatGPT's application capabilities in programming, scientific computing, and various office scenarios. This image feature upgrade aims to meet both personal creative and professional production needs. The upgraded system supports multi-dimensional editing of uploaded images: for example, converting photo-realistic styles to watercolor textures, or adding new accessories to people in the picture, while retaining the details of the original image in all editing operations. OpenAI specifically emphasizes that the new model can maintain the consistency of lighting effects, appearance of people, and scene composition in multiple editing processes, addressing the issue of detail distortion that frequently occurred in previous generations of image models during multiple editing rounds. Furthermore, the new model achieves breakthroughs in text generation capabilities, supporting the creation of image content containing more small text, such as generating detailed information charts or multiple-paragraph text based on user prompts. Additionally, the performance of generating multiple clear small-sized facial images in a single image is also outstanding.
