The corresponding producer price index, after recording a year-on-year increase of 4% in the second quarter of 2025, rose by 7.7% in the third quarter of 2025. In the third quarter of 2025, the industrial production index for sewage treatment, waste management, and pollution control activities compared to the same quarter of the previous year fell by 1.4%, while it recorded a year-on-year increase of 1.7% in the second quarter of 2025. The corresponding producer price index, after recording a year-on-year increase of 1.6% in the second quarter of 2025, showed a slight increase of 0.3% in comparison to the same quarter of the previous year in the third quarter of 2025. The industrial production index reflects changes in local industrial production volume, excluding the impact of price changes. These price changes are measured by the producer price index, which is compiled based on producer price data of selected industrial products/services collected in the same statistical survey. In terms of the main industries in the manufacturing sector, industries that recorded an increase in production volume in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter of the previous year were metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment industry (+6.1%), food, beverage and tobacco products industry (+2.5%), and paper products, printing and recorded media replication industry (+1.0%). On the other hand, the industry that recorded a decrease was the textile and clothing industry (-5.2%). When calculated using seasonally adjusted figures, the industrial production index of the overall manufacturing industry in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 4.6% compared to the second quarter of 2025. The producer price index reflects changes in local production prices, measuring the changes in the actual prices charged by producers for their output (excluding any discounts or rebates to buyers and adding any additional fees), but excluding transportation costs and other miscellaneous expenses. In the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, all major industries in the manufacturing sector recorded an increase in producer prices. The largest increase was in the producer prices of metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment industry (+14.6%), followed by the textile and clothing industry (+2.7%), the paper products, printing and recorded media replication industry (+1.5%), and the food, beverage and tobacco products industry (+1.0%).
