Hang Seng Greater Bay Area Stock Connect Software and Semiconductor Index will be renamed. Companies such as Webnovel (00772) and Meitu (01357) will be included, while Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (00981) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347) will be removed.

On December 11th, Hang Seng Index Company announced that the Hang Seng Stock Connect Software and Semiconductor Index will be renamed as the Hang Seng Stock Connect Software Theme Index, and the calculation method will also be updated with a fixed number of 40 constituents. Four new stocks, CHINA LIT (00772), QUNABOX GROUP (00917), Meitu (01357), and MOBVISTA (01860) will be added to the index, while several stocks such as ASMPT (00522), Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (00981), and HUA HONG SEMI (01347) will be removed. The renaming of the index and the related changes in constituent stocks will take effect on December 16, 2025. The number of constituents will remain at 32. In addition, the updated calculation method will include changes in index objectives, stock selection categories, industry requirements, and constituent selection methods; as well as new thematic requirements, buffer zones, and fast inclusion rules.
