HK Stock Market Move | Contemporary Amperex Technology (03750) rose more than 4% and received another large order for 4GWh of energy storage. The Indonesian factory can now expand production to over 15GWh.

Contemporary Amperex Technology (03750) rose by more than 4%, and as of the time of writing, it had increased by 2.93% to HKD 513, with a trading volume of HKD 6.03 billion. On the news front, according to market media reports, Contemporary Amperex Technology recently signed a framework supply agreement with Singapore renewable energy developer Vena Energy to provide its Indonesian subsidiary with a 4GWh EnerX battery energy storage system solution. This energy storage system uses 530Ah high-capacity battery cells, with a capacity of up to 5.6MWh per standard 20-foot container. This supply is part of a large-scale solar storage integration project in the Riau Archipelago of Indonesia. The project plans to build over 2GWp of solar photovoltaic power plants and complementary energy storage, ultimately exporting clean electricity to Singapore via underwater cables. In July 2025, Contemporary Amperex Technology had already reached a procurement agreement with Vanda RE (also an affiliate of the Vena group) for the initial 2.2GWh of energy storage systems for this project. Vena Energy's choice of Contemporary Amperex Technology will also benefit from the latter's battery factory under construction in Indonesia. It is worth mentioning that Vena Energy is headquartered in Singapore and is a subsidiary of Vena Group, a developer of green energy and digital infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region. The reason for choosing Contemporary Amperex Technology, in addition to its brand recognition, may also be due to the fact that the latter's factory in Indonesia is under construction, with an initial production capacity planned to be 6.9GWh per year and eventually expandable to over 15GWh. In the future, the region can also leverage Contemporary Amperex Technology's manufacturing capabilities in Southeast Asia to accelerate energy storage development in the region.
