Shanghai Pharmaceuticals (601607.SH) announced that recently, its subsidiary Shangyao Dongying (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shangyao Dongying") has received the "Drug Registration Certificate" (Certificate Number: 2025S03530, 2025S03531) issued by the National Medical Products Administration for its minoxidil lotion, allowing the drug to be approved for production.
Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding (601607.SH) announced that its subsidiary, Shang Yao Dong Ying (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shang Yao Dong Ying"), has received the "Drug Registration Certificate" (Certificate Number: 2025S03530, 2025S03531) issued by the National Medical Products Administration for its minoxidil lotion, which has been approved for production.
Minoxidil lotion was originally developed by Johnson & Johnson, with the 2% formulation first launched in the United States in 1988, and the 5% formulation in 1997. The 2% formulation is used to treat male pattern baldness and alopecia areata, while the 5% formulation is only for male use, specifically for male pattern baldness and alopecia areata. In January 2024, Shang Yao Dong Ying submitted a registration application for this drug to the National Medical Products Administration, which has been accepted. As of the announcement date, the company has invested approximately 6.56 million yuan in R&D expenses for this drug.
