Palantir (PLTR.US), NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), and CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (CNP.US) are collaborating to develop new AI software to accelerate data center construction.
Palantir partners with Nvidia and CenterPoint Energy to launch software to accelerate the construction process of artificial intelligence data centers.
Palantir (PLTR.US), NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), and U.S. utility company CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (CNP.US) announced on Thursday that they are developing a new software platform to accelerate the construction of new artificial intelligence data centers. This new software system, called "Chain Reaction," aims to help companies building artificial intelligence data centers address approval, supply chain, and construction challenges. Executives involved in the project stated that the software will use artificial intelligence tools to assist their clients.
The "Chain Reaction" system will be built on the foundation of the previous collaboration between Palantir and NVIDIA Corporation (announced last month), and will use artificial intelligence to address logistics challenges for retailers like Lowe's Companies, Inc. (LOW.US) and other businesses. The plan is to collaborate with energy producers, power distributors, data centers, and infrastructure builders to address the challenges of energy infrastructure construction and accelerate the deployment of infrastructure required for AI computing centers.
However, the scale of this effort is more ambitious, as executives involved stated that it aims to consider supply chain and construction work for different types of companies. For example, NVIDIA Corporation collaborates with chip manufacturing partners such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US). CenterPoint Energy, Inc. focuses on obtaining permits and conducting construction work for grid upgrades. All these efforts must be coordinated in a timely manner for data center projects to progress.
Justin Boitano, Vice President of Enterprise Artificial Intelligence Products at NVIDIA Corporation, stated in an interview, "This is a very complex supply chain system. In building this large-scale rack-based infrastructure, every ecosystem partner around the world is affected."
The use of artificial intelligence technology is mainly because it is good at handling data that is not always stored in orderly enterprise software systems. These executives stated that, for example, email communication between a company's procurement department and suppliers may indicate delays, which artificial intelligence can detect and help develop solutions for.
Tristan Gruska, Head of Energy Infrastructure at Palantir, stated in an interview, "Whether it's an energy company, a data center developer, a data center operator, a grid operator, or a power company, everyone's delays will compound each other, and there are interdependencies everywhere."
