The Ministry of Cyberspace Administration of China is investigating the illegal and irregular behaviors of internet celebrities' accounts according to the law.
Recently, the internet information department has guided relevant website platforms to lawfully handle the illegal and irregular behaviors of internet celebrities' accounts. The typical cases are hereby reported: 1. The internet account "Hu Chenfeng" fabricated the so-called "Android people" and "Apple people" to incite group opposition speech on multiple platforms, and the relevant accounts on each platform have been closed. 2. The Weibo account "Guo MeiMay tries hard" , Xiaohongshu account "Yi Yan LuLu", Kwai account "Wangchuan", TikTok account "Ayuki_888", WeChat video account "Zhou Xikai XK" and others have been continuously promoting bad values such as showing off wealth and worshiping money, and the relevant accounts have been closed or permanently banned from speaking. 3. The Weibo account "Lan Xi" published and disseminated overseas pornographic film content, and TikTok anchor "Zhang Xuefeng" used vulgar language for a long time in live broadcasts, and the relevant accounts have been temporarily banned and suspended. 4. According to the tax department's report on cases of internet anchors evading taxes, the accounts "Xiao Ying Couple" and "Step Dance Xinxin" on TikTok, Kwai and other platforms have been permanently banned from speaking and broadcasting, and their commercial profit-making permissions have been suspended. The internet anchor "Wang Zibai" had his relevant account closed earlier due to tax evasion and showing off wealth and worshiping money behaviors, and was found to have re-registered recently. The internet information department has urged relevant platforms to conduct investigations and handle the situation accordingly. Internet celebrity accounts have a great influence and high social attention, and operators should consciously abide by the law, use the internet in a civilized manner, regulate online behaviors, and use data flow reasonably. The internet information departments at all levels continue to urge relevant website platforms to fulfill their main responsibilities, improve community rules and user agreements, strengthen education and reminders for operators, lawfully and contractually carry out account and information management work to prevent the recurrence of issues that have already been addressed.
