Honda Motor will begin resuming normal production at its North American plants from next Monday, signaling an easing of a Nexperia chip shortage that disrupted output since late October. The automaker secured supply via alternative parts, though the situation remains fluid. The plan affects facilities in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Honda Motor announced that it aims to restart standard production at its North American plants beginning next Monday, suggesting that the semiconductor issues disrupting operations lately may be easing.

Production at Honda’s Mexico plant was halted on October 28, and the automaker scaled back operations at several U.S. and Canadian sites a day earlier because it lacked key Nexperia-supplied parts.

A Honda representative stated on Tuesday that the company has now obtained enough semiconductor parts to gradually resume operations, helped in part by sourcing alternative components. The spokesperson declined to comment on whether Nexperia has restarted deliveries, advising that questions about supply should be directed to the chip maker.

Although the company plans to move back toward regular production next week, the spokesperson emphasized that conditions throughout the supply chain remain uncertain, and the timeline could still change.
