Tencent delivered strong third-quarter results, with revenue climbing 15% year over year to 192.9 billion yuan ($27.12 billion), surpassing market expectations. The Chinese tech giant’s investment in artificial intelligence has strengthened its advertising precision and gaming engagement, while ongoing expansion in cloud computing positions the company for global growth.

Tencent reported third-quarter revenue of 192.9 billion yuan ($27.12 billion), exceeding analyst forecasts of 189.2 billion yuan, according to LSEG data. Operating profit reached 63.6 billion yuan, also ahead of expectations of 58.01 billion yuan, marking a solid recovery across its core businesses.

The company attributed the performance to AI-driven improvements in advertising targeting and gaming recommendations, which have boosted user engagement and ad efficiency. Tencent’s flagship apps — including WeChat, QQ, and its mobile gaming portfolio — benefited from enhanced algorithmic personalization powered by its in-house AI model Hunyuan.

Earlier this year, Tencent increased capital expenditures to accelerate AI development and expand its cloud computing business into Europe, competing with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The company also leverages DeepSeek, another large language model, to strengthen product integration across platforms.

Tencent’s continued focus on AI and global cloud expansion has resonated with investors, sending its shares up 56.7% year-to-date. With solid profitability and a growing international footprint, Tencent appears well positioned to sustain momentum through 2026.
