Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Christopher Hui, stated that as of last month, nearly 80 companies have newly listed in Hong Kong, with a total fundraising amount of approximately HK$210 billion. The government is currently processing 300 applications. Hui mentioned that Hong Kong's development in various aspects is stable and sustainable, with a significant number of companies related to the new economy choosing to list in Hong Kong.
Hui pointed out that Chinese mainland companies are going global, especially with "A+H" listings, some of which are leading in terms of scale and technological level globally, with a great demand for overseas expansion and financing. Hong Kong is playing a role in facilitating this, and these mainland companies have become international or even multinational companies.
Hui stated that Hong Kong can contribute to the country and make itself better in the process, with a significant enhancement in its role. Hong Kong cannot afford to slow down, and should optimize the market, seize the opportunity to carry out reforms, and enhance the competitiveness of the entire capital market, including the stock and bond markets.
