MPF rating: Hong Kong MPF participants earned an average of 44,000 Hong Kong dollars per person in the first ten months of 2025, setting a record for the highest annual returns.

Calculated in absolute amounts, the investment income in October was 3.9 billion Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to each of the 4.79 million members of the Mandatory Provident Fund earning 810 Hong Kong dollars. This brings the total income since 2025 to 211.1 billion Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to each member earning 44,035 Hong Kong dollars, setting a new record for annual income.
The research institution for Hong Kong's Mandatory Provident Fund indicated that the market rebounded in the last week of October, driving Trillions of MPF to increase by 0.25% in October, marking the 6th consecutive month of growth and the best performance in the first 10 months since 2009. In absolute terms, the investment return for October was HK$3.9 billion, equivalent to HK$810 earned per member of Trillions of MPF, bringing the total earnings since 2025 to HK$211.1 billion, or HK$44,035 per member, setting a new record for annual returns. Despite recording the worst negative return of 3.31% for Hong Kong and Chinese stocks in October, this category remains the best performing asset class for Trillions of MPF since 2025, with a year-to-date return of 32.74%, the highest in the first 10 months since 2009. Taking contributions into account, the total assets of Trillions of MPF reached a new high at the end of October for the sixth consecutive month, amounting to approximately HK$1.537 trillion, with an average account balance of around HK$320,500 per member, an increase of approximately HK$1,436 from September and HK$51,213 for the year. The Chairman of the research institution for Hong Kong's Mandatory Provident Fund, Mr. Cong Chuanpu, stated that if Trillions of MPF maintains its current trend, it is expected to achieve a growth of over 19% by the end of 2025, marking the best annual performance since 2009 and the third consecutive year of positive returns.
