Patria-backed Omnia joined a 50 billion reais (approx. $9.25 billion) data center project in Brazil, expected to serve TikTok as its sole client. Omnia will invest more than 10 billion reais in infrastructure, with operations set for 2027. This hub, requiring 300 megawatts of power, is Brazil's first authorized center for data export.

Omnia, a Brazilian data center company supported by investment firm Patria, has confirmed its role in a large-scale digital infrastructure project in Brazil valued at roughly 50 billion reais (about US $9.25 billion, using an exchange rate of 5.4039 reais per dollar). People with direct knowledge of the initiative indicated that the upcoming facility is expected to host a single key client — the short-video platform TikTok.

The project will be built in the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, located in the northeastern state of Ceará. Omnia has joined forces with Casa dos Ventos, a Brazilian company specializing in renewable energy generation, to carry out the development. Although ByteDance — the Chinese parent company of TikTok — has not issued any public statement, several Brazilian government representatives have mentioned the company’s involvement in the plan.

Once finished, the data center will become the largest in Brazil dedicated to a single client. It is estimated to require around 300 megawatts of power, with construction slated to begin later this year and full operations targeted for 2027.

The overall investment will be shared among the partners. Omnia will contribute over 10 billion reais toward core infrastructure, while the client will finance the remaining portion for computing and data-processing systems. Casa dos Ventos also intends to invest about 3.5 billion reais to construct new wind farms that will supply renewable power to the site.

In a recent regulatory move, the Brazilian federal government published an authorization in its official gazette allowing the forthcoming facility to provide data-export services. Omnia’s CEO, Rodrigo Abreu, highlighted the project’s significance, noting that it will be the first data center in Brazil specifically designed for data export. The initiative aligns with the country’s broader goal of strengthening its position as a sustainable data-infrastructure hub, supported by abundant renewable energy resources and recent federal tax incentives approved by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
