In the first three quarters of 2025, China's service trade has steadily grown, with the total volume of service imports and exports reaching 5936.2 billion yuan (RMB, same below), an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period last year. Among them, exports were 2601.5 billion yuan, an increase of 14.4%; imports were 3334.72 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%; and the trade deficit in services was 733.22 billion yuan, a decrease of 238.24 billion yuan compared to the same period last year. The main characteristics are as follows: Knowledge-intensive service trade continues to grow. In the first three quarters, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services reached 2270.59 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4%. Among them, the import and export of other commercial services, telecommunications, computers, and information services were 966.38 billion yuan and 794.06 billion yuan, with growth rates of 3.9% and 10.6% respectively. The export of knowledge-intensive services was 1317.76 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2%; the import was 952.83 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%; with a surplus of 364.93 billion yuan, an increase of 85.73 billion yuan compared to the same period last year. Exports of travel services have grown rapidly. In the first three quarters, travel services grew rapidly, with imports and exports reaching 1637.25 billion yuan, an increase of 8.8%.
