US Stock Market Move | AWS lands a big deal with OpenAI worth $3.8 billion in computational power, causing Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) to rise over 4.5% in pre-market trading.
Amazon's stock price rose more than 4.5% in pre-market trading.
On Monday, before the market opened, the stock price of Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) rose by over 4.5%, while NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) rose by over 2.5%. In terms of news, Amazon.com, Inc.'s cloud service division Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a huge computing power supply agreement with OpenAI, totaling up to 38 billion US dollars over a period of seven years, to provide hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA Corporation high-end AI acceleration chips to them.
The agreement states that OpenAI will start using AWS's computing resources immediately, and the batch of chips will be delivered by the end of 2026, with future expansion options included. The deployed chip models include NVIDIA Corporation's latest GB200 and GB300 AI accelerators, used to support response generation for ChatGPT and training of next-generation large models.
